Why jeans are blue?
As well-known blue jeans are the most popular clothes over the years. No other clothes had survived longer and come in many styles and trends as blue jeans.
Let start from the very beginning, Denim is the fabric jeans are made off, denim fabric existed years before the jeans created.
Blue was the chosen color for denim because of the chemical properties of the blue dye. other dyes when heated, they penetrate into the fibers white the blue dye stick to the external threads. With each wash, the blue color gets faded as well the threads get softer and lighter and thus they become more comfortable as they get old, perhaps this is one of the reasons why people love it.
Jeans trends over the years:
Back in the 1800s, jeans were worn mainly by miners and workers. They needed a working cloth that is strong yet comfy
Later in the 1930s, jeans were worn by some of Hollywood actors, who played an important role in introducing jeans to the world and at that time it was the cowboy's style
In the 1950s, jeans became more popular and until then it was worn mainly by men only.
At 1952, the first woman wore blue jeans publicly was Marilyn Monroe at one of her movies. And thanks to her all-women got to wear blue jeans after that.
In the early 1960s, people started to wear more embellished blue jeans. Every one adds his own touch to the plain jeans to make it more ornated.
Two decades after, the faded acid-wash jeans appeared, many shapes were drawn over the jeans which performed a nice combination of dark and light
1988 the year I was born in, the days of complete jeans outfits. Ladies adopted the full jeans dress and men adopted the full jeans suit.
A few years later at 1991 overalls came on light, I remember that time I also bought one, it was super popular back then
At 2000 sparkling jeans came on board, it was awesome and shining, people enjoyed making their own DIY on jeans and add their favorite kinds of sparkling.
2008 and finally jeans came in many shapes and colors. grey jeans appeared. even back then you could find snakeskin jeans style. as I recall it was a crazy period of jeans evolution
And lastly at 2012 brighter jeans shine all over, bright and colorful jeans everywhere.
Even though after all these trends over the years, blue jeans still the most popular, no matter what shape or color or sparking and ornaments, Blue jeans remain the base of this huge jeans fashion revolution.
